Christmas, NYE, and 2015 So Far

I enjoyed 2 weeks off of work during Christmas and NYE. My last day to work was December 19th and I didn't have to return until January 5th. I was rotten by the time I had to return. The 19th Chris and I went to Starry Nights. It was his first visit and my first time to go since high school. Chris was shocked that he actually enjoyed it. Ha.

On Saturday the 20th we jumped right into Christmas celebrations starting off with my Dad. He made 2 different kinds of chili that were really good. I took Beef Wontons. I made them a bunch of times over break. I was obsessed with them.

My bro and Dad got caught under the mistletoe

Sunday we had Christmas with my mom's huge side of the family. I took Rolo Pecan Pretzels. We played a girls dirty Santa game and I took a Coach key chain wallet and walked away with a Betsy Johnson wallet that I love. For the guys dirty Santa I could not think of anything so i just wrapped $25 cash. Chris had a chance to steal it back but went with a $25 Buffalo Wild Wings card so that I wouldn't pocket the $$$. Smart guy that one.

The whole fam minus one cousin and her hubby

Monday the 22nd I had a lazy day at home which was super nice. On Tuesday I got my hair done and finished up some last minute things. Christmas Eve I did some cooking/baking for our trips to my Mom's house and Chris' parents house. We also had to make a quick run to Bed, Bath, and Beyond to get one more present for Chris' MeMe. After that outing I was thankful I didn't have to get back out on Christmas Eve to Shop.

Around 5ish we loaded up the presents and the pups and headed to my Mom's house, My bro and his wife also came to partake in Christmas Eve festivities. Mom was feeling under the weather so we skipped the Church service we normally attend. Mom cooked the BEST Prime Rib. I took Beef wontons (again) and some more Rolo Pecan Pretzels. My bro's wife brought her yearly Christmas cookies that I love. I was so glad to get my own box of them. We gave my mom her big gift and exchanged Christmas prezzies with my brother and E.

Christmas Morning Chris and I exchanged gifts with each other and my mom. We also had stockings. I just love Christmas time and getting together with our families. Of course the presents don't hurt either.
I must have been good this year

We kissed Mom and the Pups goodbye and hit the road to Madison where we had our final Christmas celebration with Chris' family. Santa had already come for our nieces, and Jacki was bouncing off the walls with excitement. Ginger and sweet Jacki read us the Christmas story and I was so proud of house much Jacki knew. We had a yummy Christmas lunch and opened presents once again. I have to say one of my most favorite parts of the holiday season had to be watching my 3 yr old niece open presents and playing with her. Macy had grown so much from us seeing her a month earlier. She loves her Uncle Chris so much already. She's just the cutest thing ever. Saturday we took it back to Memphis. We were ready to be home and play with all our new "toys".

Cutest nieces ever!

The week of New Year's I pretty much enjoyed playing "housewife" minus that cooking and cleaning part. Well I did manage to clean one closet out. We also had work started on our house to rebuild our stoop which turned out to be a pain. Hopefully we will be happy with the end result.

New Year's Eve we kept it low key with going to a movie and watching the ball drop with the pups. We kissed the first full year as a married couple goodbye. It's been a good one. We blew it out in 2014 and took 5 vacations (Disney World. New Orleans, Destin, Pittsburgh, and Atlanta) and lots of trips to Oxford.  2015 will be the year of the HOUSE. Besides a summer beach trip, we are putting all extra funds to fixing up our house to sell and to buy a new one. I can't wait for more space!

Our silly night at home

We spent the first day of the New Year with my Mom and Chris' sister and our nieces. Mom and Chris did some babysitting while we shopped. On the first night of the New Year, we met my very best friends Kerri and Mandy and their husbands for dinner at Local in Overton Square. It was nice to have everyone on our side of town.

Love my girls so much!

Saturday I ran errands with my Momma and that night we had our friends Caleb and Deranda over to watch the Steeler's first playoff game since 2010. They lost and Chris was depressed, but hey there's always next season! Sunday I meal planned and went to the grocery store. Buying all healthy food is expensive. Chris and I started back on Weight Watchers on the 5th. I've been hangry a few times, but hopefully by next week I'll be use to it again.

I can't wait to see what 2015 brings (hopefully a new house)!
